When to seek urgent help

During pregnancy/labour: vaginal bleeding, waters breaking, fewer/changed fetal movements, severe headache, blurred vision, seizures, breathing difficulty or suspected preterm labour require urgent medical advice/assessment.

For collapse, seizures, severe bleeding or birth appearing imminent, call emergency services (India 112) or obtain immediate emergency help.

After birth: if your baby has breathing difficulty, is unusually sleepy or cannot feed, has a fever or feels unusually cold, seek urgent newborn assessment.

Funds and blood service

Ask the public facility about eligibility for JSSK/SUMAN or other local entitlements. Never assume a service is free without checking. Blood-bank access must be confirmed by qualified staff; do not rely on an unverified donor.
